IDLive® Doc for Printed Copy Attack Prevention

Identity Document Liveness Detection
Prevent fraudsters from presenting copied or printed documents as proof of identity

Robust Protection Against the Most Common Physical Document Presentation Attack

Have you considered all the ways that fraudsters try to pass off printed copies as authentic identity documents? We have. In fact, we think about it all the time.

That’s why we developed IDLive Doc for Printed Copy Attacks. Part of our IDLive Doc document liveness detection suite, it offers 360-degree protection from the physical document presentation attacks that fraudsters commit. All while ensuring that the verification process is seamless for genuine users.

How It Works

With our leading, AI-powered technology, IDLive Doc for Printed Copy Attacks can do what the human eye can’t—quickly, reliably, and consistently. We have trained our models to precisely recognize optical quality deviations between printed copies and originals that affect the color and texture of printed copies.

For example, printed copies, especially those made by consumer-grade printers, can’t faithfully reproduce the full color gamut of authentic documents. Colors visible to the human eye have a larger color gamut than those produced by printing devices that use cyan, magenta, yellow, black (CMYK) inks, especially in deep blues and blacks. As such, printed images appear less vivid than originals do.

IDLive for Printed Copy Attacks also uses edge detection to detect printed cut outs. It looks for imperfect edges made with bad scissors, and edges and corners that aren’t straight or parallel. Humans might pick up these nuances when inspecting the documents, but the irregularities are often subtle.

What Sets It Apart

Some vendors’ document liveness detection stops at screen replays. We’re different. With IDLive Doc for Printed Copy Attacks, we go further to meet fraudsters everywhere they are. Just because printed copy attacks are less common doesn’t mean that protecting against them isn’t important.

You can bundle products to strengthen your company’s protection against document fraud. Combine IDLive Doc for Screen Replay Attacks and IDLive Doc for Printed Copy Attacks to multiply protection against the most common digital and physical forms of identity document fraud.

Fraudsters are always trying to perfect their printed copy techniques and outsmart document liveness detection systems. That’s why we never stop improving ID Live Doc, staying steps ahead by innovating and training our models to match real-world scenarios.
