IDLive^® Face

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) evaluated 21 remote identity validation systems to test their effectiveness and fairness for presentation attack detection. The parameters of the evaluation included:

• 600 genuine user tests
• 1,200 sophisticated presentation attacks
• 3 leading smartphone platforms

The rigor of S&T’s approach surpasses industry testing. It was conducted with a diverse dataset of selfies and videos in a real-world environment that labs can’t replicate.

• Various Attack Methods. Tested against advanced attack methods including paper masks, screen replays, and high-quality printed forgeries.
• Multiple Smartphone Platforms. Evaluated using iPhone 14, Google Pixel 7, and Samsung Galaxy S22 devices.
• Diverse Demographics. Assessed across diverse demographics with 661 volunteers.
• True-to-Life Environment. Conducted in real-world lighting and environmental conditions.

Digital fraud attempts cost billions each year—and the threat is only growing. In this environment, third-party testing of liveness detection solutions is vital. Decision-makers need comprehensive, objective data to select the right passive liveness technology for their organization. 

IDLive Face was a high performer in S&T’s testing. Out of 21 tested systems, it was one of only four that met or exceeded the 3% APCER security benchmark, achieving a remarkable 0% APCER. And it was the fastest–with a one second average run time–and achieved the lowest BPCER(8.5%) among these four systems.
